GWINN: ‘Call Me Woke’: Mark Cuban States ‘Em bracing Variety’ Is ‘Excellent Business’

Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban says that corporations who welcome the woke ideology are participating in “excellent service.” Cuban further stressed the point by stating, “Call me woke.”

In an address provided to company and politicians at Michigan’s Mackinac Island, Cuban characterized the politicization of business America as an accept of variety.

“Call me woke– you don’t need to call it DEI, you can call it whatever you desire– I call it excellent service,” Cuban said in a speak to political and magnate on Michigan’s Mackinac Island. “It means taking the people that you’re offering to and making sure your workforce looks like them, and making sure you can show their worths and having the ability to connect to that. That’s what works for me.”

“Your constituents awaken in the early morning … They don’t consider Bud Light, they do not think about Target. They do not think about any of the sh * t on the other side, either,” Cuban explained. “They think about how they’re going to live their lives or what’s gon na get them satisfaction.”

Cuban’s opinions on “corporate wokeism” may be colored by his experience as a sports owner.

Yes, most people who turned off the NFL after the national anthem protests of 2016-2018 returned. Nevertheless, the NFL has about as complete a monopoly as any business can have in its market. Yes, there are other expert football leagues. Though, the quality of those leagues is enormously beneath that of the NFL, and practically all of them play when the NFL remains in its offseason.

Indicating if you love pro football, and practically everybody in America does, you basically need to see the NFL.

Companies can engage in diverse employing practices without putting a transgender activist on a beer can or selling chest binders.

For example, the Texas Rangers, the baseball group that shares a city with Cuban’s Mavericks, have chosen to diversify their working with practices to ensure they’re inclusive. They decided this would be better than making purely symbolic gestures like holding a Pride Night. In truth, the Rangers are the only MLB group that does not hold a Pride Night.

How many people are boycotting the Texas Rangers?

Isn’t “welcoming diversity” without losing cash and outraging your client base a lot much better “organization” than doing what Bud Light or Target did?
