The Free and the Brave

Todd Hayen

Whatever occurred to that(the totally free and the brave )? Whatever happened to the attitude that had Patrick Henry at the Virginia convention in 1775 state “provide me liberty, or give me death”?

Whatever occurred to the patriotic fervour and the incredible dedication to deal with suffering and death that led to over two million young men offering for service in World War I, and five times that number offering to serve in World War II?

Whatever happened to the ability to dominate worry and flight on the excitement for adventure and capacity for countless success that drove hundreds of countless men and women into the wild, and unsafe, frontiers of the American West?

Whatever happened to the spirit that filled the souls of those that dealt with plain hardship, danger to life and limb, that lead over 50,000 unlucky men and women (primarily males) into the jungles of Central America to build the Panama Canal?– eventually killing over 5,000 of them as a result of mishaps, all way of illness including malaria and dysentery?

What took place?

Yeah, this is about us, men (me consisted of!) Sure, ladies can be brave– any biological sexual preference can activate the warrior archetype– but more typically it is the gendered male that falls into this archetypal constellation.

Bravery– an obsession to secure those he loves, have a vital and sensible assessment of a difficult situation, and the force and power, at the minimum a prospective force and power, ready to cause whatever needed to protect partner and household, neighborhood and nation.

We, us males, have actually appeared to have actually lost much of that. Have we end up being a bunch of puss-balls?

Dr Mark McDonald, a prominent medical doctor with a speciality in psychiatry, does not mince words when he says while explaining the mental state of men and women throughout this crises:

we basically have males with no balls, and then we have histrionics, women who have no psychological containment, since there are no males to include them any longer.”

Sexist? Perhaps some will believe so, however McDonald is not putting all the blame on one sex, or exclusively on the masculine or feminine archetypes, the duty here is rather well balanced.

What does this mean?

Extremely generally it implies we have actually produced a culture that has actually done a pretty good task of emasculating males– the extreme feminist motion, in addition to a general absence of circumstances where males can express their “man-ness” in a healthy way, has been a big part of the issue.

“Toxic Masculinity” is a phrase and idea that has taken the world by storm, and contributes a fair bit to the confusion that guys are experiencing while attempting to ascertain what a “genuine guy” remains in today’s “anti male” culture.

“Oh boo hoo” some of you may be stating. “Male, through their powerful patriarchal history of abusing women and treating them as inferior partners in relationships deserve a little pull back!”

There definitely is reality to that, but two wrongs don’t make a right. You can’t take an important part of being a “male” without some collateral damage, all the method around.

So what does being a “genuine man” relate to bravery? A lot, really. Dealing with misfortune and risk, mainly in order to secure the physically weaker, is a very crucial characteristic of the masculine archetype of warrior, or perhaps king if you wish to get more in-depth about it.

Historically and traditionally the male has actually been the protector, the physical, and often intellectual (intelligence that exists in logic thinking and crucial thinking) discovered in masculine archetypes (once again, archetypes both males and females have access to).

These qualities are mainly directed toward defense and outwardly predicted as strength and willpower. This typically stabilizes the more emotional womanly archetypal aspects that once again, generally, are activated by the female, or woman, in a relationship.

As a psychotherapist, and a stereotypical psychologist at that, I see these stereotypical powers and influences playing out in my clients every day. Most of the issues I discover in a couple’s therapy comes from an imbalance, or a dysfunction, in these energies of masculine and womanly.

Again, the “guy” in a couple can be activating both masculine and womanly archetypes, in addition to the “woman.” The issue can be found in if the archetypes triggered are unsuitable, out of balance, and produce a result that is unexpected, undesired, or not advantageous. Most of these influences run in the unconscious, so very seldom are they purposely controlled.

It wasn’t until I met Dr McDonald that I connected some extremely essential dots. McDonald recently wrote and released a book entitled United States of Fear. The subtitle of the book, “How America Fell Victim to a Mass Delusional Psychosis” is the primary focus.

McDonald holds nothing back when he resolves what he thinks to be a fundamental reason for this mass psychosis. He thinks that ladies (feminine archetypes driving the lady’s behaviour) need a strong, and manly guy, to contain her emotionality (due to the unfettered expression of her womanly archetypes.) McDonald, in an interview provided on Jerm Warfare, stated:

Do you think guys with masks on make women feel safe? It only shows they have no balls. I have actually spoken to female law enforcement officer who see guys in camouflage, tattooed, driving around in trucks with gun racks– using masks. They tell me, ‘this does not make me feel safe. This makes me afraid. If they are this afraid of a virus, how will they respond to a real risk– what’s going to occur when the bear comes out of the woods? What’s going to take place when a rapist tries to attack me? What’s going to take place when my kids are going to be abducted by the guy in the park, what are they going to do? With their mask on are they going to state, “please stop. Please. Please.” They’re not going to put their lives on the line. They will not even put their mouth on the line.'”

Severe words, my siblings. Severe words, but I believe quite on the money.

Is this the only thing that is driving the collapse we are seeing in those that can not stand up to this current tyranny, and say “sufficient suffices, step back!” No, naturally not, but, in my viewpoint, it is a large part of the problem.

Our culture, a minimum of in the West, has actually been established for this to take place. We have actually ended up being more and more dependent on government looking after us, hence losing our own individual drive to develop character and strength. We depend upon federal government and authority to believe for us, and inform us what is finest for us, to, in a word, moms and dad us. We comply, we remain kids, and we eventually suffer.

The brave keep what makes them totally free and want to eliminate for it. Liberty is a God offered right, not one bestowed upon us by any other authority. The healthy manly archetypes of warrior and king have at their side the symbolic sword representing their power over hardship and risk.

There is a time for the warrior to pull the sword from its scabbard simply a few inches to allow the sun to glint off of its polished surface, flashing in the eyes of a possible opponent, letting them understand who they are handling.

And after that there is the time to pull the sword entirely free from its boundaries and slash what is seriously threatening the warrior and those he enjoys.

Now is the time to eliminate.
