The Workplace of Management and Budget Plan (OMB) launched draft guidance outlining federal agencies’ responsibilities and suggested actions around the responsible development, usage, and procurement of AI technologies. The OMB guidance establishes new firm roles and resources for handling government AI systems; needs companies to construct internal procedures, techniques, and capability to increase their usage and procurement of accountable AI; and sets out minimum AI threat management practices that most executive agencies are expected to follow.
